Summer 2007 in Canada...and Sydney

I guess you'll see by the photos that I visited the famliy for 4 weeks. It was fantastic - all the boys were even home for 36 hours! First time we were all together since Luke's wedding, 2 years ago. We spent a lot of time up on the land building my parent's house. You can tell by the photo at the bottom. It really was incredible. I arrived with only the bottom floor completed. We cut, measured and put up the top floor, then there were 5 of us up on the land with Dad when we put on the roof. Great experience. (If you want live footage, have a look at Matthew's blog. Great shots of us building the house. And of course, of the start of the summer - little Anna.

She's at the bottom (one of the many photos that were taken) and she really is a delight. Such an adorable baby and I have to say Matt and Yuko did quite well. Very well behaved, doesn't cry much and laughs which brings a smile to everyone's face. What a treasure.

And of course, Dalia and Luke are expecting at the end of the month. That will be great since they are still in Singapore, so I will be an uncle full time (I hope - they kid that I won't be able to see the baby, let alone babysit it!)

Other than that, life is great. I had an absolutely great time with May, as I visited her for a week (see picture at the top) in Sydney. I hadn't started school yet and she was just beginning a semester so it allowed for a lot of well-spent time. We saw a theatre production called Priscilla and it was a treat. Full of dancing tunes and great humour, we were giggling all night and ended up dancing until 3am at a local bar! Great times. And we relived our Filipino times by going to a Filipino restaurant with some pinoy friends of hers. Quite a fun time.

I'm back at school and going full time! The last week was spent preparing for the students (meetings, meetings and more meetings - with planning and setting up the class in between). I can't wait to begin as I have much more confidence now, willing to try new things, adapt to different things out there and so on. Will be a good year.

But, just wanted to throw in an update for you people that are still reading. Enjoy, and really, if you want to see some great footage of the summer, check out Matt's blog. I have to admit, he really did a good job.
